Swimming pool dog

Not all dogs take to water, mine for instance doesn’t like it at all, though he will let me wash him in the shower. As long as the water is nice and warm and there is plenty of snacking and cuddling afterward! He doesn’t care much for swimming pools and never liked it when I went in, patrolling the area and getting all worked up, especially if I disappeared under water! If your dog is like that, here’s how to make him get used to it!

Give your dog snacks near the pool. Rewarding usually works wonders.
Take it slowly: take your dog to the pool, give it a snack. Next time, sit on the edge of the pool and stick your legs in: snack.
Then go in the pool, but stay near the side. Maybe the dog will even join you. Snackies!
Just take it easy and soon your dog will love being around pools as much as you and your family do!
This is also a great case for Clicker training.
